Strike that; reverse it.

As promised last week, we have this week not one but two in-depth interviews with three deep people. Four if you count me (but I wouldn’t). Lots of depth to be explored. Hope you’re ready to put on your thinking caps! And your “I love Visual Novels” badge, if you have it.

First, we talk to Ben Bateman, one of Aksys Games‘ lead writers. Ben’s done a number of localizations over the years, including “999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors” and “Hakuoki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom.” We talk shop. We talk about 999′s upcoming sequel, “Virtue’s Last Reward.” And, without spoiling a single detail about said sequel, he still makes me bubble over with anticipation. SQUEE!!!

Then, after the break, we get straight up indie. Christine Love and Isaac Schankler provide plenty of insight on “Analogue: A Hate Story.” I bring the questions and the awkward stutters, revealing how totally out of my depth I am when trying to talk about gender, oppression, power struggles, and awesome sci-fi. Fortunately, these two individuals were ever-patient with my meandering questions and led me to an even deeper appreciation for their craft.

What I’m trying to say is, this episode is a really good one, despite my inability to focus or speak eloquently. Hopefully you’ll get something out of it!

With music from Daisuke Ishiwatari, Michael McCann, Shinji Hosoe, yogurtbox, and Isaac Schankler.
